The Intercraften server lets you choose a job (like fisherman or woodcutter) and pays you in coins so you can purchase items at the store. The site features magic portals that will teleport you anywhere you want to go.

IRC, OR INTERNET RELAY CHAT:

There is a chat feature in Multiplayer mode that you can toggle on and off by typing the letter T while you’re playing. But if you want to access chat outside of the server you’re on to tell your friends where to meet up, get help with Minecraft from experienced users, consult a wiki of already answered questions, or just talk about stuff, you can download IRC chat software and visit official Minecraft-specific channels. There are rules that must be followed on each channel, of course. You need a parent’s permission before downloading the software and you must remember to keep your personal information private and safe from strangers at all times when you’re chatting.

Start with the two basic channels first:

#Minecraft—This is the original channel made by the game’s creator, Notch. It gets 500 to 600 users a day, and people talk about Minecraft stuff as well as just about anything at all, as long as it doesn’t break any rules.

#Minecrafthelp—This is the main support channel where you can ask for support, report possible bugs or problems, and get help.
